About Laura & Greendogs

I’m Laura, a canine behaviour and welfare specialist with a passion for bridging science and compassion. At Greendogs, I translate cutting-edge research into practical strategies that support dogs and the humans who love them—whether through decompression walks, long-term behaviour support, or tailored client education.

My work is rooted in evidence-based practice, but never at the expense of empathy. I integrate insights from ethology, affective neuroscience, and communication science to help owners understand not just what their dogs do—but why. Every behaviour tells a story, and I’m here to help you listen.

Greendogs was born from a simple belief: that dogs deserve more than obedience—they deserve understanding. I work with clients across Canterbury and beyond to create welfare-first solutions that honor each dog’s individuality, emotional needs, and lived experience.

Whether you’re navigating settling in a new rescue , or wanting the best start for your puppy, or just want to deepen your relationship with your dog, I offer more than quick fixes. I offer partnership, clarity, and long-term support.

I've always been drawn to the quite signals -the sublet shifts in posture ,the flicker of uncertainty , the joy that blooms when a dog feels truly safe. Behaviour is not just about training it is about ;its about trust. My work is driven by a deep respect for dogs as emotional beings, intelligent beings, and a belief that every dog human relationship deserves clarity compassion and care.
